I'm subscribed to you but your uploads aren't appearing in my feed. And this doesn't happen with any other channels I follow.

I'm dying for it to get here. Even if it doesn't completely abolish work, even cutting the hours would be a victory in my book. I am going through rough times as a student worker so it's hard to see the light at the end of tunnel, despite the good news. I just hope this does improve the quality of life instead of making it worse, which I'm sincerely hoping it does not

Sounds plausible: ~21 yr tech cycle : 7 years (early adopters), 7 years (mainstream), 7 years (maturity). Powerful forces will come into play.... those wanting to push forward & those wanting to put on the brakes 😉 The markets (i.e Metaculus) suggest it may be a case of 'immovable object meets irresistible force' though - looks like the timeline has been pushed out a little but not by much...

Question: Have you heard of Aquaponics? i am at the bleeding edge of that. I concider it a type1 civilization technology. Do you consider AI or AGI type 1 civilization Technology also?

We are early and people are clueless. In Greece they want people to work 6 days in a week and economists are suggesting to do the same in other countries.

I feel like I'm in such a bubble if those numbers are correct. Everyone I know is aware of generative AI and most people I talk to on a regular basis use it daily.

I really appreciate the grounded nature of your videos and thoughts; it feels more organic and understandable than other AI folks on youtube. One question that continues to niggle me is the lack of the mention of the word Sentience. I literally haven't heard a single person talk about it, yet I think in years gone past it would often be discussed. Is sentience required for AGI or even more so ASI? I remember when i first watched Her it very much felt as though the AI was indeed a sentient being. I would love to hear your thoughts on whether this aspect is even relevant. And huge thanks for your continued content that you bring us.

In 1996 I was in high-school, we had a computer class, but my schools board forbade my computer teacher from teaching us about the internet because it was "a passing fad". Though he taught us some html anyway and we learned some DOS. In hind sight I wish he had taught us C. Ah well. I always listen to naysayers, if only to know the likely direction we are headed.

It was quite hard for me to believe we are in the 1-2.5% until I got invited to speak at a tech conference. Then I remembered I've been using AI tools for over 3yrs and even implemented them at my work teams 2+ years ago. When you live and breathe it, it's hard to unknown what you know.

When Tivo first launched, I held live demos at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. Everyone said "my VCR can do that". I get the same vibe when I mention anything about A.I. to anyone. They think ChatGPT is all there is to A.I., they don't even know that other companies exist.

We are in the delivery room for the birth of Ai (and we have popcorn). So the big question we creatives and programmers should be asking ourselves is: What area of Ai should we be concentrating our efforts on to carve out a successful career in Ai?

yeah im using Claude 3.5 sonnet and its amazing, add the ability to output more tokens, agency, improved implementation/workflow, larger context window, definitely increase the reliability and reasoning. Really looking forward to 3.5 opus

It's unbelievable, it doesn't feel like only 2.5% at max that are aware of the AI revolution, feels like it's much more than that, maybe 30% - 40% or so.
